In February 1984, we, Kent and Juanita Wiggins, along with our three boys, planted our first blueberries. About three acres with approximately 600 plants per acre. Later, we planted blackberries and then some few years later, raspberries and strawberries. A whole new life of hard work but a good life. We were a family which worked together and our motto was; "It's A Family Thing". Even some of our grand kids worked along with us from the time they were babies sitting on the floor with Blueberries all around them.
We had a lot of good times. We even started a nursery for propagating blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. We met so many wonderful people and gained so many precious friends. Some people would just come to the farm to visit and not even get any fruit. They just wanted to get out and "come to the farm".
But in 2000, we decided to "retire" and travel. And we did! In 2017, the folks we sold the farm to; decided they wanted to sell it; so guess what? WE BOUGHT IT BACK!
So here we are. Planted the farm in 1984 and named it Plantation Pines Berry Farm. Raised our sons, watched them become dads and raise those grand babies on the farm as well. What grand memories we all have of sitting under the berry shed "solving all problems", being friends with many and getting to be a part of so many other family memories as well. Sold the farm in 2000; name changed to TYLER BLUEBERRY FARM, we traveled, made lots of new friends and then we bought the farm back in 2017.
